Google’s Gemini app, which was first compatible with Android 12 or later, is now compatible with Android 10 and Android 11 devices.

Google, a software behemoth, is bringing its Gemini AI app support for older Android smartphones. The Google Gemini app is now compatible with devices running Android 10 and higher operating systems, according to the Play Store page for the app.
Google replaced its current Assistant with a dedicated Gemini AI app for Android smartphones in February. Unfortunately, the app was only compatible with Android 12 and later at the time of launch. Google recently updated the Play Store’s minimum requirements section for the Gemini app, letting users know that it now supports Android 10 and Android 11 operating systems.

It should be noted that the Gemini app’s “Google Help” blog still indicates that Android 12 or later is needed to use the app.

According to earlier reports, Google is developing a new feature for the Gemini app that will enable the AI-powered assistant to interact with other music streaming services like Spotify. In the Gemini Settings page, Google has reportedly added a new “Music” option that lets users “select preferred services used to play music,” according to a report by Android Authority. The option, however, takes you to a blank page, indicating that the feature is still under development. When fully integrated, the Gemini AI assistant should be able to play music using voice commands from third-party apps like Spotify, Amazon Music, and more.

Although Google has not yet disclosed any information regarding the feature’s roll-out schedule, users should be able to access it in the upcoming weeks.
